The “PARticle Therapy REsearch Center (PARTREC)” imbedded in the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Biomedical Sciences and Technology of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), is an internationally leading research center on the development and application of techniques and instruments for improving particle therapy and imaging in close collaboration with the existing radiobiology and translational research program of the Department of Radiation Oncology. PARTREC facilities for pre-clinical studies have been expanded to a state-of-the-art small animal irradiation room with the support of a KWF infrastructure grant (IMPACT).
