Confocal fluorescence module for optical tweezers

In the past years, techniques have been developed to detect individual molecules using fluorescence – and in particular to add this capability to the simultaneous mechanical manipulation of protein conformation and dynamics, which can be achieved using an optical tweezers instrument. This combination allows for the detection of molecular interactions and dynamics, which is crucial to understanding a host of cellular processes.
